Daron Acemoglu wins Nobel Prize in Economics

ASOF Fellow Daron Acemoglu, Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has won the 2024 Nobel Prize in Economics along with Simon Johnson (Massachusetts Institute of Technology)and James Robinson (University of Chicago). The prize was awarded for studies of how institutions are formed and affect prosperity. Prof. Acemoglu joined ASOF at its inception in 2022. He is the third ASOF Fellow with a Nobel Prize, and the fourth Nobel Laureate with Armenian heritage.
