Abstract

This talk presents some of the major concepts of the proposal of developing a National Center of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, NCRA, within a broader project known as CAST, Center for Advanced Sciences & Technologies. First, we explain why such a center shall be established in Armenia, considering a tradition of excellence in computer science and engineering Armenia has historically, and a recent revival of this tradition through deep international networking. Next, we present the key ideas of the proposed program, it’s modern curricular component, training of the researchers, graduate and international student programs. Finally, we address implementation aspects of the proposal by presenting a location of the center, it’s governance structure, outreach, budget, and a roadmap.
