Abstract

Armenia's Cultural Heritage is severely threatened, not only outside Armenia but also in the Country. The reasons are diverse and complex. Nevertheless, the potential for solving these problems is very high if a holistic and multidisciplinary approach is adopted. A full set of proposals will be presented and will include: 1 A University Master in architectural monuments preservation at NUACA University; 2 Training and capacity building for restorers through pilot projects implementation; 3 Improving Armenian rules and regulations consistently with the dictates of the international charters and creating quality standards both for the design and the implementation of preservation works and for the materials to be used; 4 Creating a Foundation to raise awareness and to facilitate the attraction of public and private investment through campaigning for heritage, supporting research, enhancing the work of experts and NGOs, guaranteeing high quality standards along all the implementation process.
